Mary Reardon Kupitz grew up in Mesa, Arizona with seven siblings, dogs, chickens, goats, sheep, horses, and a large orchard to play hide-n-seek in. With the fun and chaos that ensues in a place like that, you realize you don’t have to go far to ignite some imaginative fun and create happy memories.
The animal count diminished in time, and life changed with paved roads and the call to grow up. Mary enjoyed her friends and many activities over time that included sports, music, and school. She had a desire to teach from a very young age and realized that dream early on. She set it aside for the calling of motherhood. Many years were spent in that role, and books were always a big part of daily life. Reading to her own children, volunteering in the school that her kids attended, and ultimately going back to teaching, kept her in the places where children’s books were plentiful. There was always a desire to write a book and that inspiration came much later with grandkids.
Mary still enjoys kids' books with colors to see, characters to meet, and lessons to be learned. Her new adventure as an author begins with a story close to her heart, and she looks forward to seeing where this path leads.
