- Best Day Ever started out as a love letter of sorts meant for my sweet, adopted grandson. As he grew from that little one year old gift into an active toddler, I wanted so much for him to know how absolutely prayed for, wanted, and loved he was. As I pondered how to deliver the message to this little boy, I started to write, and the story began to take form. There seemed to be no better way to tell him than through one of his favorite activities, a ride on the little green tractor with his Pop and, of course, his best buddy and cousin. I wanted the story itself to express to him that no matter what he experiences in this life, he is truly loved. He is ours and was from the very beginning, just like his cousin who was born into the family. Both boys have parents that were waiting with hearts ready to love and extended family that waited with open arms. This is true for all of my grandchildren. Most importantly, I want them all to grow up knowing they are intentionally, greatly, and forever loved.
- All adoption stories and circumstances are not the same, but within so many homes like ours there are families who are waiting to give love to, and receive love from, these beautiful children of all ages.
- This is a story that doesn't end here. We were meant to be a family in God’s amazing plan for us. Just as Pop said in Best Day Ever, “God gives us a heart that grows and grows so that all of the people he sends us can fit inside.” We treasure every day we have together and every new addition to the group! Each one is immeasurably loved.
